Real Betis hoping to secure Brahim Diaz signing

Real Betis are monitoring the situation of Brahim Diaz in an attempt to lure the forward away from Santiago Bernabeau this summer.

The 20-year-old made the switch to Real Madrid in the 2019 winter window after deciding to leave boyhood club Manchester City.

Having joined Zinedine Zidane’s side during the second part of the 2018/19 campaign, the player made a total of nine appearances across all competitions, starting five of them. He also scored one goal and assisted another in his first season.

However, injury concerns and lack of full fitness has limited the Spain U21 international to only seven appearances this term, averaging nine minutes per game in the La Liga. Just like last season, Diaz had only been involved in just two goals before the season was brought to a halt, with his involvement coming in the Copa del Rey.

January presented an opportunity for the 20-year-old to move out on loan after finding game time difficult to come by, but constant efforts to ship him out was rejected by the player.

Getafe and Betis offered him the chance to play more in the second half of the season but the player was bent on fighting for a place in Frenchman’s team.

Mundo Deportivo are however reporting that Diaz is now willing to listen to offers as he considers his future at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Should these reports be true, Brahim Diaz will have on the table a lot of offers to choose from, with Betis being tipped as one of the top contenders for his signature.
