Real Madrid have been given the go ahead to return to training and are set to do so on Monday, May 11.

Having undergone the necessary tests for Covid-19, the Spanish club will resume group training on next week.

An approval for individual training was sanctioned last week in a bid to get players active before progressing to play the remainder of the season.

Valdebebas will now hold the training sessions of the team as usual starting Monday while the club also considers plans to play the remainder of their home matches away from the Santiago Bernabeu.

Eden Hazard and Marco Asensio were weeks away from returning to join the group before the season was halted but the lockdown has not restricted the rehabilitation as they’ve continued while at home.

Marca reports that the former Chelsea star man should 100 per cent available for Zinedine Zidane in a month’s time. Hazard has only played 749 minutes in La Liga, which was not what Los Blancos expected but has been largely due to injury challenges.

Real Madrid will be looking to stage a huge challenge for the title with Barcelona once the season is back underway, as they are only a point behind the Catalan side.
