Real Madrid players have been speaking to the club’s TV channel about their expectations for the return to La Liga and Brahim Diaz took his turn today.

The league is set to restart on June 14 with 11 matches to go as Barcelona lead Real Madrid with two points.

The 21-year-old discussed plans being made by the team and how they are expected to cope without spectators, with closed doors set to be the norm due to the coronavirus pandemic.

“The fans mean everything to us and we’ll miss them,” Brahim said. “We’ve got what are like 11 cup finals ahead of us and we’ll try to adapt to playing behind closed doors as best we can. Zidane has asked us to keep on working as we are, that we enjoy ourselves and to keep progressing. We’re raring for LaLiga to resume to go and win it.”

The last three weeks have seen the squad undergo intensive training at the Valdebebas as they prepare to regain fitness and be in shape having missed three months of action.

“The adaptation period has been progressing. Training with your teammates isn’t the same as training at home.

“I missed having a ball at my feet and we’re adapting really well to playing football in a group and working with the ball,” he added.

Brahim Diaz could be set to play a key role with fixture congestion likely to used for the rest of the season, and the usage of five substitutes could also be in his favor.
