OFFICIAL: Achraf Hakimi joins Inter Milan from Real Madrid

Real Madrid have made official the transfer of Morocco international Achraf Hakimi from the club to Inter Milan on a permanent deal.

The news had been circulated since last week that the 21-year-old was close to sealing a move to the San Siro. The rationale behind his decision to join Antonio Conte’s side was the clear indication of being the starter at the right wing-back role for the Italian side. And the move was made official by the Spanish giants on Thursday.

Hakimi joins Inter on a five-year deal in a deal worth €40 million plus a further €5 million in variables in the next five years.

The transfer was announced on Real Madrid’s official website earlier today: “Real Madrid C.F. and Inter Milan have come to an agreement on the transfer of Achraf Hakimi. The club wants to thank Achraf for all his years of dedication, professionalism, and exemplary behavior since arriving as part of our cantera in 2006. The club wishes the player the best of luck in this new chapter”.

Many expected the versatile youngster to head back to the Spanish capital after enjoying a wonderful two years loan spell with German side Borussia Dortmund.

However, with Dani Carvajal looking like an ideal Zinedine Zidane option, Hakimi has no desire to return to understudy the Spaniard, prompting a move to Italy.

There hasn’t been any ruling out of both Madrid and the playing coming together again, but the latter would have to think of continuing his development at Inter.
