According reports in Spain, Real Betis are currently in the lead to secure the loan signing of Takefusa Kubo from Real Madrid in the summer.
The Japan international was moved on loan to Real Mallorca during the just ended 2019/20 La Liga seaosn, and despite his impressive performances, the club were unable to escape the drop.
The 19-year-old was four times on the score sheet for Mallorca and also contributed four assists in 35 league appearances this season.
However, settling for a regular playing time at Madrid now is a difficult thing to ask from the promising youngster following a successful loan spell.
And speculations have surfaced that Betis are keeping a close eye on his situation at the Santiago Bernabeu in an attempt to approach the league champions for the forward.
The Seville club are expected to dig deep in the transfer market this summer for reinforcements after finishing 15th in the league this term.
Kubo is also under contract at the Bernabeu with four years left on his current deal.
