Real Madrid are set to be without midfield maestro Toni Kroos for the next two weeks after the midfielder suffered an injury in the 2-3 win over Real Betis over the weekend.
The Germany international came off before the half time whistle for Luka Modric and tests carried on him in the early hours of Monday has revealed the extent of his injury.
A report on the club’s website after the checks read: “Following tests carried out today on our player, Toni Kroos, by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a muscular injury to the left gluteus medius. His recovery will continue to be assessed.”

This could be some quite a good news for the club with 30-year-old expected to miss at most two weeks of action for Zinedine Zidane’s side which includes games against Real Valladolid and the next against Levante.
Meanwhile in his absence, the likes of Federico Valverde, Modric and Isco will all be vying for the opportunity to slot in the void left by the former Bayern Munich star.
Zidane seem to have found a place for Martin Odegaard though that is subjected to change in the course of the season and he is expected to find a partner for defensive midfielder Casemiro.
