realmadrid-vs-monchengladbach

The game against SD Huesca on Saturday will be Real Madrid’s seventh in the 2020/21 La Liga campaign and their in ninth all season.

Zinedine Zidane as always has continued with reshuffle his team almost every weekend and with an all important game against Inter Milan coming up after this weekend, you expect the Frenchman to rest some players.

However, he is also likely to field a strong starting eleven to face Michel’s side over the weekend as they look to defend their La Liga title.

Here is how Zidane could lineup his team for the clash against the 18th-placed team of the league table of the Spanish top flight.

GOALKEERPER – Thibaut Courtois

Thibaut Courtois continues to justify why any of his backups are yet to receive any minute of action so far this season. The goalkeeper is a huge key to Madrid salvaging some vital points and he expected to be in post once again.

RIGHT-BACK – Lucas Vazquez

With both Daniel Carvajal and Alvaro Odriozola out with injuries, the winger is set to continue at right-back for Zidane’s team once again. Though he hasn’t played his best, he has managed to make himself adjusted to that role.

CENTRE-BACK – Raphael Varane & Sergio Ramos

Varane and Sergio Ramos will also be at the heart of defence against Huesca on Saturday. The France international has been quite shaky in the last few games but with Ramos back to partner him, he should be able to rediscover his best form.

LEFT-BACK – Ferland Mendy

Ferland Mendy has become very crucial for Madrid’s set up since making the move to the Santiago Bernabeu last summer. His presence gives the team enough room to go all out while having a pacy person who can easily track back.

MIDFIELDERS – Federicho Valverde, Casemiro & Luka Modric

Toni Kroos could be given a rest on Saturday in order to keep him fresh for the Champions League game against Inter, meaning Valverde, Casemiro and Modric are set to start together. The trio played a pivotal role in Madrid’s 2-2 draw with Borussia Mönchengladbach in midweek.

RIGHT-WING – Rodrygo Goes

The Brazil is set for a recall into the starting line up in place of Marco Asensio who picked up a knock in the game against the Bundesliga side. Rodrygo will need to make the most of the opportunity if he is provide stiff competition for Asensio.

CENTRE-FORWARD – Karim Benzema

The Real Madrid No.9 will also lead the line again for the Los Blancos following his goal in midweek. The striker has just scored twice this term but Saturday will be a good opportunity to add to that tally.

LEFT-WING – Vinicius Junior

Knowing that Eden Hazard is now returning from an injury lay off, Zidane is not willing to risk the player on Saturday and Vinicius Junior should be given a good chance to show his qualities. The 20-year-old however needs to work on his decision in the final third of the pitch.

Real Madrid predicted lineup: Thibaut Courtois; Lucas Vazquez, Raphael Varane, Sergio Ramos, Ferland Mendy, Federicho Valverde, Casemiro, Luka Modric, Rodrygo Goes, Karim Benzema, Vinicius Junior
