After winning back to back games in the Spanish top-flight with wins over Barcelona and SD Huesca, Real Madrid will be looking to make it back to back away wins when they visit Valencia.
Los Blancos are unbeaten in the four away games they have played this season, winning three and drawing one in that period.
The visiting side also secured their first win in this season’s Champions League in midweek following the 3-2 win over Inter Milan at the Alfredo Di Stefano Stadium.
We reckon that Zinedine Zidane is unlikely to make too many changes to the side that beat the Italian side on Tuesday. Hence this could be the possible lineup:
GOALKEERPER – Thibaut Courtois
Thibaut Courtois will likely keep his place in goal for the team on Sunday. He is yet to keep a clean sheet in his last five games after managing four in his opening five fixtures.
RIGHT-BACK – Lucas Vazquez
Perhaps the best back up Madrid have to Daniel Carvajal at the moment. He has made the position his own and has been solid in the last few games.
CENTRE-BACK – Raphael Varane & Sergio
Ramos
Raphael Varane was rested in the last league game with Eder Militao replacing him but the France international is expected to return to the lineup to partner Sergio Ramos for the game against Los Che on Sunday.
LEFT-BACK – Ferland Mendy
Ferland Mendy has everything Madrid need at the moment. He has justified Zidane’s decision to make first-choice ahead of Marcelo. He expected to start in defence on Sunday.
MIDFIELDERS – Federico Valverde, Casemiro & Luka Modric
Toni Kroos is likely to be on the bench for Madrid over the weekend with Luka Modric taking his place. The Croatian will partner Federico Valverde and Casemiro in the middle of the park.
RIGHT-WING – Rodrygo Goes
After his match winning goal in midweek against Inter, Rodrygo could be handed his second start in the league over the weekend. His purposeful runs with the ball is exactly what the club lacks at the moment.
CENTRE-FORWARD – Karim Benzema
Karim Benzema was on the scoresheet once again for Madrid in his last game and looks to have regained his momentum in front of goal.
LEFT-WING – Eden Hazard
Eden Hazard picked up a knock in the second half against Inter but Zidane ruled the possibility of the kick being serious. He is in line to start his third successive game when the club travels to Valencia.
