Real Madrid are bound for the action once again on Wednesday night when they travel to play CD Alcoyano in round 16 of the 2020/21 Copa del Rey competition.
This will be the Los Blancos first game in this season’s competition, while it will also be their first game since suffering the 2-0 defeat to Athletic Bilbao in the semi-final of the Spanish Super Cup a week ago.
Their opponent, Alcoyano are unbeaten in their last seven games across all competitions last losing by three goals to nil against Villarreal B in the Segunda B division in November last year.
During that period, they have managed four clean sheets while conceding three goals.
The competition has already seen some surprising exits in the earlier games, with Athletico Madrid, Elche and Cadiz all bowing out of this year’s edition. Hence Zinedine Zidane’s men will have to be prepared in their efforts to eliminate Alcoyano.
