Real Madrid manager, Carlo Ancelotti has heaped praise on his team’s attacking display against Celta Vigo in the 5-2 victory on Sunday.
A Karim Benzema hat-trick, a goal each from Vinicius Junior and Eduardo Camavinga ensured the Los Blancos returned to the top of the league summit after four games.
While the defensive organisation had a bit of trouble, Madrid’s attack was a pure delight to watch, and could have scored more goals if they had taken all of their chances.
“I think we showed a lot quality in attack with Karim [Benzema], Luka [Modrić], [Eden] Hazard and Vinícius. With Miguel Gutierrez too, who put a cross in for one of Karim’s goals,” the gaffer said during his press conference after the game.
One player who was singled out for praise was Vinicius Junior. The Brazilian youngster has already surpassed his last season goal tally in La Liga after netting his fourth of this season against Eduardo Coudet’s men.
Asked about the winger, Ancelotti added: “Right now, he’s playing at a very high level and is doing things very well at the start to the season, helping the team a lot. He needs to keep it up. He has confidence right now, but he is remaining calm. When he’s through on goal, he is keeping cool.”
Madrid have scored 13 goals in four games so far in the 2021/22 Spanish La Liga, the most of any club but the manager is hoping to get a better response from his defence after conceding six times.
