Real Madrid displayed an eye-catching performance against their arch-rivals Barcelona at Camp Nou and won 4th El Classico in a row.
Carlo Ancelloti’s men were unplayable throughout the game and scored two goals. The hosts managed to put the ball in the back of the net just once in the dying moments.
The game was entertaining as always, but Ronald Koeman’s men never looked settled and were struggling to go past Madrid’s backline. Madrid were very sharp and resilient and were the better team.
Ancelloti must be impressed by the defensive display of his team. The backline was disciplined the entire game and was successful to resist Barcelona’s attacks.
Here are our Real Madrid’s player ratings from the game against Barcelona:-
Thibaut Courtois: 6
Courtois had a quiet night as Barcelona managed only two shots on target. The Belgian was sloppy with his passing on a couple of occasions and failed to keep a clean sheet.
Ferland Mendy: 7
The Frenchman was rock solid at the back and gave a tough time to Dest on the left. Mendy also helped Vinicius to attack from the wings.
David Alaba: 9
Alaba sprinted 90 yards to score a spectacular first El Classico goal. The Austrian also blocked Depay and Fati on several occasions.
Eder Militao: 7
Militao made some brave tackles and interceptions and was very disciplined at the back. The Brazilian was troubled by Depay twice, but fortunately, there was no harm. He also helped Vazquez to defend on the right.
Lucas Vazquez: 8
Spaniards had a nervy start to the game but gradually grew into it. Vazquez gave away some cheap fouls in dangerous areas. The right-back finished a brilliant counterattack in extra time.
Toni Kroos: 8
Kroos was sensational in the middle of the park and was surely one of the best players on the pitch. The German was smart with his passing and created several chances upfront.
Casemiro: 7
The Brazilian was unshakeable infront of the defense and as always came up with decisive blocks and tackles. Casemiro provided defensive stability but was not good on the ball and made some sloppy passes.
Luka Modric: 7.5
The midfield maestro did a great job in the midfield and was accurate with his passes. Modric dropped deep on numerous instances to help the defense.

Vinicius tormented the defense the entire time he was on the pitch. Mingueza and Dest were not able to handle the lightning speed and footwork of Vini Jr. The Brazilian was also involved in the opening goal scored by Alaba.

It was a quiet performance from the no.9 and a rare goal-less game. Benzema was not sharp and failed to convert one fantastic opportunity created by Modric. But the Frenchman linked up well with his teammates to develop the game.

The Brazilian had a tough time on the right to dribble past Alba and failed to have a larger impact on the game. The youngster recorded one assist to Alaba for the opening goal.
