Real Madrid vs Osasuna: Match Preview | La Liga 2021/22

Real-Madrid-vs-Osasuna-Preview

Still buzzing from the win over Barcelona, Real Madrid will return to action on Wednesday with a home game against Osasuna.

Madrid survived a late scare from Barcelona, beating them with a 2-1 scoreline at the Camp Nou on Sunday.

The Los Blancos seemed to have picked up their momentum having suffered back-to-back losses to Sheriff Tiraspol and Espanyol, but have won subsequent games since then.

In Osasuna, Madrid will face a side that looks to have picked form this season, suffering just two losses in 10 games. They were held to a 1-1 draw over the weekend when they faced Granada, suffering a red card as well.

Prior to the stalemate, Jagoba Arrasate’s men had won all of their last four games across all competitions, including beating Villarreal away from home.

Just like Osasuna, Carlo Ancelotti’s side has also lost once in their last five games in the league, being defeated by Espanyol.

There has been three fixtures involving the two coaches but it is Ancelotti who has the upper hand, winning two games while Arrasate has got just one.

Osasuna’s last win over Madrid dates back to January 2011, when they won by a goal to nil at home.

Since that time, the pair have met 14 times across all competitions, with Madrid recording 11 victories while three of those games have ended in a draw.

Wednesday will be an opportunity for Osasuna to upset Madrid once again but Ancelotti is confident of his side marching on following their win over Barca.
