Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has tested positive for Covid-19. The news was announced via the club’s official website on Wednesday.

Real Madrid will have to face another tough opponent in the league without their coach this time around after failing to beat Barcelona in the El Clasico.

The team will travel to Celta Vigo on matchday 30 in La Liga before they travel to London to face Chelsea in the Quarter Finals of the UEFA Champions League.

Ancelotti’s son Davide Ancelotti is in line to replace Ancelotti in the dugout and could even be the one in charge when they meet Chelsea on Wednesday, April 6th should his Ancelotti not recover from the Covid-19.

If Ancelotti shows light symptoms, he would not be mandated to continue being in quarantine for seven days. He will however be allowed to work as far as he maintains social distancing and be in a protective nose mask.

There’s a need for Real Madrid to bounce back to winning ways to avoid pressure from Sevilla and Barcelona.

Real Madrid are currently on top of La Liga after 29 games with 66 points, nine clear of second-placed Sevilla. Barcelona are third on the league log but have a game in hand.
