Nico Williams can still happen, despite new deal

Nico-Williams-Real-Madrid-Transfer-Rumours

Nico Williams has been linked with a move to Real Madrid for a while now, but there were many heart breaks earlier this week when he signed a new contract with Athletic Club one that keeps him at the club for three more years i.e. until the end of the 2026-27 season.

His deal was all set to expire come the summer, and lots of teams including Real were lining up red carpets to seal his signatures. But what now?

There used to be rumours about Nico having some €50m release clause in his previous contract, and that figure seems reasonable given the talent he is and given the fact that it kind of rules out Barcelona from even sniffing him. But with the new contract, Athletic Club have refused to reveal his release clause, until now…

Thanks to the brilliant team at Estadio Deportivo, we now know that despite penning down a new deal – his release clause still remains at mighty fifty. And it means there still is a possibility of a summer transfer despite new deal. There should be some interests from Premier League, I suppose, that needs to be beaten then…
