Eden Hazard is at Lionel Messi’s level, claims Loco Gatti

Former Argentina goalkeeper Loco Gatti has insisted that an in-form Eden Hazard can be likened to the novel of Lionel Messi.

Gatti made a rallying call to Real Madrid fans to be rest assured and trust the Belgium international to come good once he is fine, as he compared him to the Barcelona superstar.

“If Hazard is fine, like the one I saw at the 2018 World Cup, he is at Messi’s level,” he said on the Spanish TV show El Chiringuito de Jugones. “They are both great talents.

“Hazard is at Messi’s level if he is doing well, and time will tell.”

The ex-goalkeeper cited the former Chelsea no.10s performances at the 2018 World Cup as a proof of how good he can be as he remains hopeful the player will display similar performances at the Santiago Bernabeu.

“I remind you that Hazard was the best player at the last World Cup, and I am sure that this year he will show his level in LaLiga.

“It seems that praising Messi is like an obligation. This year Hazard is going to be at Messi’s level. LaLiga is not won by a player; it’s won by everyone, and he is going to be an important guy. Time will tell.”

Hazard is currently back to full fitness after recovering from an ankle injury and could be a beneficiary of the delay in the season’s completion.

The Spanish league is set to restart on June 14 with Madrid preparing to take on Eibar in their first game of the post lockdown situation.
