Real Madrid will be without three of their first-team players when the club returns to action at the Santiago Bernabeu on Sunday.

Gareth Bale, Luka Jovic, and David Alaba have all been ruled out of the game after failing to train with the team earlier today.

Madrid held their last training session at the Bernabeu on Saturday ahead of their league game against Celta Vigo. However, there were no signs of Jovic and Alaba while Bale ended the session with a bandage on his thigh.

Per reports from the Spanish media, Jovic has gastroenteritis and was the rationale behind his absence from the training while Alaba also suffered an overload and will be unavailable.

A discomfort in the hamstrings of his right leg means that Bale will also sit out the game against Celta Vigo on Sunday evening.

However, Andriy Lunin, Nacho Fernandez, Marcelo, Ferland Mendy, and Luka Modric are back with the team while new signing Eduardo Camavinga was also named in the squad for the game.

Madrid have taken four points from their opening three games in 2021/22 Spanish La Liga, and a win tomorrow could see them go top of the league table.
