OFFICIAL: Daniel Carvajal medical report

DaniCarvajal-vs-intermilan

Real Madrid have officially confirmed that defender Daniel Carvajal is set to face another spell on the sidelines.

The right-back is reported to have suffered a groin injury during Thursday’s training session and will now miss around two weeks of action.

The official report read: ‘Following tests carried out today on Dani Carvajal by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a muscular injury to his right adductor brevis. His recovery will continue to be monitored.’

The injury to the Spain international could see Zinedine Zidane go back to playing Lucas Vazquez as makeshift right-back or be forced to pair Eder Militao, who just returned to training on Thursday, with Raphael Varane while pushing Nacho Fernandez to the right side of defence.

His absence could also be a huge blow for the Los Blancos considering that they could go into games against Deportivo Alavés, Shakhtar Donetsk, Sevilla, Borussia Mönchengladbach and Atletico Madrid without the 28-year-old.
