Real Madrid and Barcelona are set to face of later this month but even before the start of the season, the former had beaten the Catalan club.
Barcelona had been linked strongly with a move for Turkish whizkid Arda Guler during the summer with the youngster then playing for Fernabahce.
Then the unexpected happened — Madrid joined the chase, and you know what that means. don’t you?
Carlo Ancelotti’s side won the race for the left-footed player who went on to join Los Blancos signing a long-term deal with the club.
Despite signing his deal in the summer, Guler is yet to feature for Real Madrid, which has left Barcelona fans claiming they dodged a bullet by missing out on the player.
While Madrid would be gutted, they feel there are exciting times ahead and they only need to be patient to witness greatness.
11 games have been played so far this season and the Turkey international is yet to make an appearance because he has been on the sidelines due to injuries.
However, it’s not long to go until the 18-year-old officially makes his debut.
Though Madrid have lost just one game all season, it’s important they keep the same intensity going until the end of the season.
Hence, Guler’s availability is much needed especially heading into the next phase of the season.
Mostly played as an attacking midfielder or a winger, Ancelotti could really on the Turkish as his wild card for the campaign.
Jude Bellingham has taken the No.10 role behind the two forwards by storm and is showing no signs of stopping anytime soon.
In fact, his performance has surprised many including his own teammates who are convinced he will continue to do well at the club. Some others include former Madrid players, managers and national teammates as well as opposition players.
“It’s annoying when you sit and watch the results, and then he’s been scoring in the last, I don’t know how many games now. He’s taken the league by storm. Real Madrid have really brought in a good player,” Barcelona’s Andreas Christensen said.
However, it’s a long season and he will need rest at some point.
Players like Guler and Brahim Diaz could be the ones deputising him if Ancelotti ever decides to rotate his team in the final phase of the campaign.
For everything he did in Turkey, Guler’s qualities cannot be ignored and they will only make Madrid not miss Bellingham if he is to also come into the picture.
Fans can’t wait to see him take to the pitch and the player himself is keen on showing the Santiago Bernabeu family what he is made of.
A return over the weekend against Sevilla is not ruled out but in the worst-case scenario, Arda Guler should get minutes when Madrid face Braga in the UEFA Champions League before squaring off with Barcelona.
