Real Madrid defender Sergio Reguilon has confessed to being aware of speculations linking him with a permanent move away from the Santiago Bernabeu.

He also insists he remains focused on his loan spell at Sevilla, who are yet to close the chapter on the 2019/20 campaign as they still find themselves in the battle for the Europa League title.

Reguilon has played a massive part of Sevilla’s progress this season, which has earn-marked him interest from Premier League sides Everton and Chelsea.

Madrid have been rumoured to be open to offloading the player in the summer as they seek to raise funds through player sales and are reported to be wanting at least 20 milion for the 23-year-old left-back.

Chelsea are believed to have turned their attentions to the Spanish defender having been quoted a huge fee for Leicester City’s Ben Chilwell, but Reguilon is not reading much into the reports.

He told Marca in interview: “If my year at Sevilla had not been good, then this would not be happening. These teams would not ring. If I am fine, the team is fine and the club is fine, everyone is happy. But I do not think about these possibilities now – I’m sorry if that sounds like a cliché.

“I’ve been saying since quarantine that until the season isn’t over I won’t be talking about my future. Until then it would be unfair on myself, my team-mates and the club. I have no complaints about anything, about the city, the club, my colleagues. I feel very loved. Who knows what will happen in the future.”

Julen Lopetegui’s side are also said to be willing to make his move permanent this summer despite the Premier League interest.

On his future, the Los Blancos academy graduate added: “We should talk about that sitting quietly with Real Madrid, my representative, with everyone. And see the possibilities for next year, let’s see what happens. I don’t know.”

Reguilon scored two goals and provided four assists in 31 appearances for Sevilla during the 2019/20 La Liga Spanish season.
