Real Madrid won their first league game after the return of La Liga by beating Eibar by three goals to one, at the Alfredo Di Stefano Stadium.
Toni Kroos, Sergio Ramos and Marcelo were all on the scoresheet for Los Blancos with Pedro Bigas pulling one back for the away team.
The first 15 minutes of the game proved to be complex for Madrid who failed to settle down despite an early goal from Kroos four minutes into the game.
His shot from the edge of the box was too high for Marko Dmitrovic to make a block and found the back of the net.
A quick counter-attack started by Ramos in the 29th minute saw the defender running on to put finishing touches to what he started after a nearly squared pass from the now fully-fit Eden Hazard.
Marcelo, who hardly surged forward in the first 20 minutes found the back of the net after a well-struck shot from the 18-yard box 37th minute, after the Eibar defence failed to clear rebound ball from Hazard’s strike.
Madrid went into the break leading the 16th placed side 3-0 after overcoming an early scare from the Los Armeros.
Zinedine Zidane, who was managing his 200th game as Madrid boss substituted Dani Carvajal for Ferland Mendy, who slotted in at an unfamiliar position on the field.
The second half saw Eibar getting the better of Madrid to get into the game through Bigas, whose deflected ball went through the legs of Los Blancos goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.
Gareth Bale, Vinicius Jr, and Eder Militao all came into the game after 61 minutes but their entrance did little to the scoreline with Madrid ending the game with a 3-1 win.
The win takes Real Madrid back to within two points off La Liga leaders Barcelona who won against RCD Mallorca on Saturday.
