Real Madrid are reportedly looking to bolster their squad for the 2022/23 season and are already said to have identified summer targets.
Madrid have had a fine start to the 2021/22 season after ending the first half of the season in the first place, ahead of rivals Atletico Madrid and Barcelona.
Chelsea’s Antonio Rudiger and Ryan Gravenberch of Ajax Amsterdam are two players reportedly being monitored by the Spanish side.
Rudiger is set to be a free agent at the end of this season after talks to extend his contract at Stamford Bridge hit a snag in the last few months. The central defender has been quite impressive for the Premier League side in the last two seasons and has attracted interest from the Los Blancos.
According to the Telegraph, the European champions have offered as much as 165,000 per week to the German international but the player is said to be demanding more than that amount.
Prior to the arrival of Thomas Tuchel, Rudiger was close to leaving the club but Tuchel gave him the opportunities he deserved and convinced him to stay. Real Madrid are hoping Rudiger will be the latest David Alaba – style arrival with a move for Kylian Mbappe also on the cards.
On the other side, the club is also said to be monitoring 19-year-old Gravenberch, who has been impressive for Ajax all season. The 10 times capped Netherlands international is seen as one of the huge prospects to spearhead Madrid’s next generation in the midfield area.
The teenager has scored once and provided two assists in 18 league games so far this campaign, having started all but just one game.
Ryan Gravenberch is seen as a long-term prospect ahead of Paul Pogba, who will be out of contract at Manchester United at the end of the season.
