Martin Odegaard and Andriy Lunin are set to join Real Madrid ahead of the 2020/21 season.
Odegaard was expected to head back on loan to Real Sociedad for a second spell, however with new signings unexpected an the Santiago Bernabeu this summer, Madrid have performed a u-turn over their decision.
The quest to recall the Norway international was reportedly asked by manager Zinedine Zidane, who wants to integrate the 21-year-old into the first team.
His impressive displays for La Real in the just ended season seem to have played a key part in the gaffer’s decision to give him an opportunity with the squad.
He was directly involved in 16 goals for Sociedad in 36 appearances, finding the back of the net on seven occasions while assisting nine times. He also helped the club to secure a place in next seasons Europa League competition.
His return could also pave way for the likely departure of James Rodriguez, who has just one year left on his current contract with the Spanish side.
Lunin, who enjoyed a massive spell at Real Oviedo in the second half of the 2019/20 season is also set to return to the club, and will be expected to receive his chances to challenge Thibaut Courtois during the upcoming season.
Madrid are also said to be considering bringing back Dani Ceballos, who has been quite good while playing for Premier League side Arsenal.
He helped the Gunners to secure an FA Cup title last month and the north London side were said to be open to keeping him beyond the summer.
The Spain international made 37 appearances across all competitions for Arsenal, scoring twice and providing a further two assists.
Madrid see the midfielder as a perfect replacement for Luca Modric, who is nearing his latter days at the club despite showing a strong performance in the 019/20 campaign.
