Real Madrid defender Eder Militao has heaped praise on the manager Carlo Ancelotti following his impressive start to the 2021/22 season.
The central defender has been one of Madrid’s top performers in the first part of the new season since Ancelotti took over the club in the summer.
Though yet to score a goal, Militao has been important for the team as Karim Benzema and Vinicius Junior have been in front of goal for the club.
The Brazil international has built a strong partnership with David Alaba, who arrived from Bayern Munich in the summer as Madrid looked to replace Raphael Varane and Sergio Ramos, who left the club before the start of the season.
Quizzed about his strong performances, Militao gave credit to the Italian manager, who looks to have had a hand in the player’s development in the past six months.
“I’m fulfilling a dream in Madrid. Ancelotti has been very important to me, he has given me the confidence that every player needs. I try to continue learning every day and I hope we will win many titles in 2022,” Militao said in a recent interview.
Speaking of titles, Madrid is hoping to win the Spanish league title once again after failing to send their title last season. The Los Blancos currently sit top of the league table, eight points clear of Sevilla, who are in second.
In the 18 games he has played in the league, Militao has played a role in seven clean sheets while also providing one assist. The Brazilian also started all six of Madrid’s group stage games in the UEFA Champions League.
The team is expected to begin training on Wednesday, December 29 after being given a break during the Christmas festivities.
