Real Madrid have officially confirmed the signing of midfielder Eduardo Camavinga from Stade Rennais.
The player joins the Los Blancos after putting pen to paper on a six-year deal at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Real Madrid will pay an upfront fee of 31 million euros with add ons when met taking the deal to a total of €30 million.
A statement on the club’s website read: “Real Madrid C. F. and Stade Rennais F. C. have reached an agreement over the transfer of Eduardo Camavinga, who joins the club on a six-year deal, until 30 June 2027.”
Camavinga had just one year left on his contract with Rennais but was pushing for a move away from the Ligue 1.
Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United were among the clubs to have registered an interest in the midfielder, but Madrid have moved swiftly to close his signing.
The 18-year-old is a midfielder with fine physical attributes who is capable of playing anywhere across the middle third. He excels at breaking through the lines thanks to his explosive bursts of pace.
The versatile midfielder played 88 times for Rennais since being promoted into the first team, finding the back of the net on two occasions.
